Sun (nprofile…h6f2) I like MATE out of personal preference / nostalgia. I started using Ubuntu linux in the late 2000's with 8.04LTS and by then Gnome 2.32 was in full swing and at the time that felt like the most feature rich DE without a waste of bloated resources. KDE had more eye candy but I didn't like the UI / mostly the file manager for it.
Modern KDE does look a lot nicer than it did 15 years ago with KDE4.
