I’m looking at this for merchants who will be new to Bitcoin, They won’t have their own node, or even be that familiar with Bitcoin. So mirroring existing merchant services as closely as possible to make it familiar is a key first stage in adoption I believe.
The other important feature that the above offers is the ability for staff to take payments without having any access to the wallet.
i.e. they can’t take money out.
Lastly, the option for merchants to receive funds in fiat. Most merchants have day to day costs they need to cover, so a Bitcoin to Fiat gateway with minimal fees and 1 day settlement seems a very good option to me.
