Do you still have your list? I'm curious what it would cost here, though as you point out, it would be seriously less. Just from looking at your bags, I can't really tell. A big shopping trip usually costs me about $300 to $400.

Are Canadian energy, rents, and housing costs also higher than in the U.S? I don't know how you manage. Granted, our medical costs are higher, but depending on where you live, buying a house can be pretty affordable, especially outside of big cities, in the South and parts of the Midwest.
