I think that in order to stop Trump from becoming President, Dems are breaking so many norms, values, standards, and redefining so many precedents that the unintended consequences will become so severe and "just this once to stop a monster" will result in a loophole/precedent you can drive a truck through. It'll be really amazing to witness when "by any means necessary" seems like a good idea at the time but then you'll realize that, in politics, the cure is almost always worse
