Update to this whole thing:
I actually do like the anime, it's just some scenes can be very uncomfortable to watch, and I get it, maybe the whole thing with reincarnation means he's genuinely a kid now and all of that jazz — it's a big topic in japanese and other eastern fantasy media.
Got to the "actual" second season and it's interesting seeing how Rudeus can screw up so badly by just being himself. Well, I'm glad we're exploring more of his character, and the story so far has been pretty good, too.
Let's hope and see.

quoting note13qp…yj2qMushoku Tensei has its highs and lows, but I'll say some scenes could be left out and it'd be straight up better — did we need fhe 34 year old man creeping on 13 year old Eris so many times? If it just stopped there it'd be just some weird joke, but the insinuation that Rudeus actually wants to do stuff to her is hella awkward.
Even worse when the anime keeps reminding you in Season 2 that he's this fat, arrogant shut in who reincarnated and is now in the body of a what, twelve year old boy?
Damn, who wrote this??
