You can use Pixel Camera if you want. Our own Camera app does support hardware-based HDR+ on Pixels along with hardware-based Night mode but doesn't have all the features of Pixel Camera. The difference between the default mode in our Camera app vs, Pixel Camera on Pixels is up to personal preference. Both use HDR+ but they use a more aggressive and stylized form of it giving photos a certain Pixel Camera look.
