Yeah, Musk's own tweets were very obviously and blatantly boosted. I kept getting his tweets in my notifications with the purple star icon (meaning "recommended by algorithm" from what I can tell) no matter how often I clicked "see this less often." I ultimately just muted his account to get rid of such notifications.

Other right wing accounts I'm not so sure about. The study mentioned by this article seems inconclusive as well. Limited data set, and I think there may be confounding variables, like the fact that Musk himself (with his boosted account) was drawing attention to those accounts, rather than them being boosted explicitly... The increased engagement of those accounts could also be the result of the algorithm having become more neutral, when it was previously biased in the other direction.

All in all, I don't think a shift to the right on Twitter can be denied. The only question is whether it's primarily because of Musk's own boosted account, or because of direct bias in the algorithm, or maybe even a mostly organic and natural phenomenon.
