Singaporeans and Malaysians like to refer to Chinese mainlanders as "Ah Tiongs". Tiong means "central" in Hokkien (a Chinese dialect, similar to that of Min Nan in Taiwan). On its face, it's not offensive. Yet, it's a slur we use.
