If the key to reviving the UK's economic fortunes is investment (in both public & private sectors), which is one of the few economic issues where there is broad consensus (even if how to do this is less often agreed on)... then the extent of the challenge facing the new Labour Govt. is made starkly clear by the graphic below.... for most of the last thirty (!!) years, UK investment has lagged behind the other G7 nations.
