翠星石 (nprofile…vqps) The change log for the 2.8.0 release mentions that they've deprecated the subscribe API (suggesting to use the Mastadon compatible API instead), I checked the diff and it only marked the API as deprecated, with no functional change.
I tried subscribing to a local user and it worked, I even got the notification for the post. But I didn't get a notification for a remote user after subscribing. So, it's indeed a bug.
Didn't find anything relevant with a quick git log grep. Looks like it's time to
