If only we would have taken power over the corporations and the oligarchs in time to prevent all these tipping points we're seeing pass by now. If only we'd even start with the right assumptions, that we don't have any carbon left in our carbon budget, that in fact we should be drawing down carbon and putting more in the ground than we're taking out already. That we should have transitioned away from fossil fuels in the 2010s at the latest and begun that drawdown.
