Discovered civ 5 on my MacBook. Played it for about 20 hours on Christmas. Then naturally did the obvious: searched for civ 6 on steam and discovered it's on sale for $3.
It's an older game, so it runs fine on the base M1. Apart from a signature failure in the app bundle, which results in diabolically misleading error messages. There's a convoluted workaround involving some settings clicks and retries, which is not in any way discoverable, but eventually it runs. And civ 6 finally scales the ui properly. Trying to read 10 point font at native resolution was beginning to test even my super nerd vision.
