I was married to a narcissist for more years than I want to admit. They don't process or understand emotions like we do, but have a gnawing desperation to be loved even though they don't understand what love is. They are really good at faking it and making people like them, but because it's fake people eventually sus them out so they move on to greener grass. In the real world they can just move to find new victims, but the internet being what it is there are only so many communities they can go to.
