Radio waves are still waves, which means they reflect radiation back when hitting something. That means they can be detected.
If some nerds were able to figure out how to access other VMs running on a hypervisor stack through CPU manipulation, then the technology to track movement using WiFi signals certainly exists and is totally in use today.
