Name: Wyrmhide Cloak
Wondrous Item (cloak), very rare (requires attunement)
Description:
Crafted from the scales of an ancient dragon, the Wyrmhide Cloak is a magnificent garment that exudes power and majesty. The cloak is made from shimmering scales that shift color depending on the angle of light, ranging from deep crimson to iridescent emerald. Runes of draconic origin are embroidered along its edges, pulsing with arcane energy.
Properties:
Dragonkin's Blessing: While wearing the Wyrmhide Cloak, you have resistance to the damage type associated with the dragon whose scales were used to create the cloak (chosen during attunement). Additionally, you have advantage on saving throws against the Frightful Presence of dragons of the chosen type.
Draconic Ward: As a reaction when you are targeted by a spell that deals damage, you can use the cloak to absorb the incoming magical energy. Roll a d10 and reduce the damage taken by the result plus your Dexterity modifier. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Dragon's Guise: While attuned to the cloak, you can cast the Disguise Self spell at will, with the added effect that you can choose to appear as if you bear dragon-like features, such as scales, horns, or glowing eyes.
Activation:
The Wyrmhide Cloak requires attunement by a creature with the ability to cast spells.
Curse:
If a creature of evil alignment attempts to attune to the Wyrmhide Cloak, the cloak rejects them with a burst of draconic energy, dealing 2d8 force damage to the creature and rendering the cloak nonmagical for them until the next dawn.
