I was fortunate to have grown up with and around art. My father was a professional artist (trained as a fine artist, then an illustrator and art director). Our walls were full of his paintings, our shelves full of art books, and house generally full of appreciation for what art can do. And I was in a city with some of the greatest museums in the world a walk or a subway ride away. Art always seemed like something you *do* as much as something you consume.
