"Gift links" from the Washington Post require you to create a (free) account and give them your email address before you can read the article.
I don't particularly like this. I would rather they just showed the article. But I can't do anything about it, because, among other things, I don't work there and I lost Jeff Bezos' number.
But a significant subset of the Internet complains about this to anyone who, like me, occasionally posts such links. These complaints are likely to go answered.
