You have to keep in mind that those who understand the stakes would vote for a drunk pigeon if that were the Democratic Party nominee. The rest of the country is possibly a bit more picky even though they don’t know what they want and wouldn’t recognize it if it sat across from them in their own living room. Optics matter.
