For #MeteoriteMonday and #MineralMonday, I present this fine example of Libyan Desert Glass (LDG).

It is not a #meteorite, but it is meteorite-related.

LDG was created by an ancient meteorite impact in what is now the Great Sand Sea of the Sahara. Forces from the impact melted the desert sand into this gemmy amber glass.

LDG has been used in jewelry since the times of King Tut.

This specimen is a #ventifact of the milky white type.
