Alcoholism killed one of my closest friends not that long ago, so I wouldn't recommend it. If you just want to be a zombie go tell a doctor you're depressed and they'll give you some pills, it made go on autopilot for months. Nothing will improve though, you have to put in effort for the future to not be worse than it is today.
Throw out some CVs dude, even just the act of looking and thinking about having a better career should help imo
