America can acquire the intelligence from around the world, to a level that China or any other country can’t compete with the US. Right now so many of the highly intelligent people in the world come here, to a massive number compared to anyone else. Combined with our domestic, we have a massive intellectual flux. Those people help to contribute to the advancement of world technology, America benefits financially, and the countries statistics show where these people come from, also become richer overall. This happens from their sharing their learned skills and great education to their home country, and when they return home and participate in their industries. Overall it’s a plus for everyone. And we want the minds of the world.
The industries, like tech etc, have room for almost infinite growth. You can always take more high quality workers. Your high level businesses will grow and grow, and startups will have the quality they need. China won’t be able to compete with the minds of the world, because of the population disparity this could become a problem for us.
Now if you close the borders, and kick out all the illegals, you can give priority to H-1B visas and people with proven financial skills etc, and then take a certain number of others. That way you can benefit from immigration and not just take plain workers who walk in. Some who are a burden to you.
You will still be the only one with significant immigration in the world. You will have the only successful foreigners. You can’t be the worst “racist” if you’re the only one doing immigration in the world. You might not be perfect, up to YOUR standards, but on the subject you are the most. You can’t be the worst if you’re the only one.
