While we struggle with robots operating in the real world, where nothing is sure, sensors are inaccurate, actuators imprecise and no assumptions can be made, we have enough knowledge and computing power to program agents operating in virtual environments like computer games. And yet somehow human players still prefer to play with other human players, and not with "bots", which can be used as an addition to the game, but not really the main opponent. I think it's enlightening to consider why.
