Weeks before I saw the first mainstream press story about how "Squatters have become a right-wing talking point even though they are vanishingly rare" story, I was seeing panicky headlines about squatters in all of my feeds where my anti-nonsense filters are weakest. Because I do sometimes watch prank videos, I was especially seeing "Look at the nasty cruel thing this genius hero landlord does to squatters" vids in recommendation algos.
Squatters are the new shoplifting gangs, I guess! #Fear
