Of course God or true faith don't live in physical objects like books or churches. Same as true dedication to my fellow citizens don't live in the Nation flag or parliament house. Like the union of two ppl doesn't live in the marriage ring. Ppl got attached to symbols too much bc it's easier, easier to "care" for an object than to live according to the principles this object represents. But a lot of ppl do take these symbols very seriously, so by burning the holy book of Islam he disrespected his brothers and sisters, and he knew it. if he didn't expect this- he was foolish indeed. If there is an action, the consequence will always follow. Correct assessment of potential consequences of our actions is our own responsibility.
