I truly believe the constant flooding of images into our mind rather we think they affect us or not they do, images are much more powerful than we seem to think. There is a reason Hollywood has so much influence, there is a reason why propaganda is almost always in the form of images or at very minimum accompanied by images. Getting people to think about something even if initially they have a negative response to it, they can and often do normalize the idea in their mind until it's no longer an issue. "A picture is worth a thousand words".
