Fossil fuels are incredibly expensive. It's just that people do an accountancy trick where they pretend that the cleanup costs aren't part of the cost of the fuel.
If we include the cost of rebuilding after more frequent hurricanes, the cost of aridification, and every other climate disaster impact into the price of fossil fuels, then they'd be too expensive for anyone to use - which would be good.
If we don't do this, then not only are we dooming the planet, but we're subsidising the people doing it.
