This one is obviously close to home for me but the opposition's attacks on the APS need to be called out
Jane Hume was on RN Breakfast this morning running their lines, to her credit Kylie Morris pushed back on some of the talking points
The 20% increase in APS numbers includes in-sourcing of previously outsourced work. Outsourcing is more expensive and the staff get paid less. Everyone is better off, except the outsource providers, with the work done by APS staff instead
500 staff were hired by Veterans Affairs to clear a massive backlog in application by veterans.
That is repeated across other agencies. Jobs weren't just created for the sake of it, they were created because there is work that needs to be done
They always say they won't cut frontline staff but the work of those staff is supported by those behind the scenes. Take away the support and it obviously has a flow on impact to frontline services
