I just saw a video about a "coding" monitor that would lower the screen brightness in its light mode (changed by buttons below the monitor). It made editor light themes actually not too shiny. I went in the #kde brightness settings, lowered the output brightness of my physical monitor to a comfortable 40% Lo and behold, it made light themes bearable. I might just start exploring light themes again. Maybe even for the full desktop.
