It’s a start, but it does not go far enough. A schedule 3 drug is still a controlled substance. While nobody has ever died from a cannabis overdose, the dangerous drug alcohol is completely unscheduled, despite its proven potential for abuse, addiction, and overdose. 178,000 people a year die from excessive alcohol use.
It is time to remove cannabis from the controlled substances list entirely, and regulate it like we do alcohol.
