Most people would argue, just use Linux, everyone is using Linux. But OpenBSD at it's core does have a more robust and well written codebase, with less attack surface and cleaner code. So the desire to enjoy more Linux software on OpenBSD is not unreasonable. Plus, today's internet is a dangerous environment and malicious actors and malicious code abound. Security is very important as well as efficiency.
