In 2006, for InfoWorld, I recorded a video interview with Jeff Bezos. Amazon's PR offered it as a quid pro quo for a cover story on AWS. We didn't agree to that, but they kept hounding us, and when I walked into the interview I became somebody I never was before or since: a pushy interviewer who didn't let him recite talking points.
At the time I was embarrassed about that. Now I'm kinda glad to have been able, once upon a time, in a small way, to look him in the eye and call him on bullshit.
