Transferred my mother's iPhone XR to an iPhone 13 yesterday.
What a crap process - first attempt stopped because - of course - there was an iOS update missing.
Then the transfer happened, and I was told I could now delete the iPhone XR, which I did.
The new iPhone then took an absurdly long time to load apps, preceded by having to enter PIN and iCloud password multiple times(???).
Some apps just did not load at all and needed manual AppStore install.
Lots of apps then required completely new setup, and of course all the Signal data was gone (could have known that, my mother couldn't).
The banking authenticator needs a letter with a QR code which I had to order on the web site (which I was already logged in to, thankfully).
None of this is something 'normal' people know how to do. How did we get to a situation like this???
