You commit a felony with no intention of hurting anyone, but someone dies, it doesn't even have to be by your hand. The state can then charge murder or sometimes manslaughter if what you did was a misdemeanor. Prosecutors like felony murder because they don't have to prove the defendant intended to murder, they only have to prove they intended to do the underlying felony.",
