I went to Heroes Dutch Comic Con a couple of weekends ago. There was the usual assortment of cool stuff, cosplay, art etc, but also at least THREE (3!!!) military and police recruitment booths.
I found this jarring and unsettling. I guess it's the esports influence. My overwhelming thought is that these crowds are my people, the folks I hung out with most of my life, and suddently they're Military pickings?

Deeply dystopian.
