if we tax corporations as if they are people, we can't act surprised if they petition the govt as if they are people.
corporations are no more people than any other association.
greater corporate/govt alignment was one thing Taft was hoping to accomplish w corp income tax. it also ties govt ability to service its debts directly to the success of the market.
