I agree with Darren.
If the pope approves the blessing of an objectively sinful state per se, then he is objectively committing the grave sin of scandal, compounded hugely by his office.
In such a case, he would sadly join other "bad popes" to be judged by our Lord. We should pray for him that he repents and works to mitigate the serious harm of his actions. Peter was not without sin.
Regardless, popes are not the Catholic Church nor the inerrant, immutable truth that guides her. The Church belongs to Christ, not the pope. In His time, He will deal with such problems.

After this many of his disciples drew back and no longer went about with him. Jesus said to the twelve, "Do you also wish to go away?" Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life; and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God."
