I guess some of us in the open source community are resistant to change. There is a rich history of Linux and BSD, X11 and it's various desktop environments and window managers. This sudden shift to rapid adoption of wayland, sway and hyperland as the norm can be disconcerting. Just as people were resistant and suspicious to the rapid adoption of the systemd init system and pulseaudio, over traditional stacks like rc scripts and alsa or oss.
