I remember Zimbabwe’s civil war around 2006.

I was flying into South Africa and had a 12 hour layover in Zimbabwe.

We were corralled in this medium size room and we’re not permitted to leave it “for safety concerns”.

We perhaps could of driven the distance in the same amount of time, were it not for risk of a bullet wound or death.

I probably still have a Zimbabwean 1M dollar note worth pennies in USD at the time.
