What's interesting with Starmer's Labour is that there can be dissonance between what different ministers are saying, but those seeming contradictory stances are always swept aside with the broad excuse that the bad Tory men stole money from our piggybank and generally broke things and now we have no option but to not spend money on making people's lives better. Lisa will in due course say, "Oh, of course we'd like to help the arts sector, but our hands are tied." And the general public will just accept that. Which I suppose is to be expected given that they're deliberately being blasted around the clock by a completely Rightwing media (and I include the Guardian there) who wish to propagate the idea that regular people should increasingly, inexorably, "normally" become worse off and work longer hours, whilst the rich simultaneously should get increasingly richer forevermore
