Seeing a lot of interest in exploring Fedimint x Nostr integrations.
It seems that a Fedimint federation is an obvious place to also house and run a Nostr relay:
- Costs to run could be amortized across the community as opposed to being borne by one individual.
- Fees for usage could be charged in e-cash BTC for lower cost/higher privacy.
- It could be a federated Fedimint module (higher censorship resistance/lower throughput) or it could just be separately hosted by one or more of the guardians.
I could imagine a similar case could be made for other decentralised/self hosted web standards such as BitTorrent, DWNs, web servers, etc as well.
Of course, technical analysis on what would make the best implementation sense would be needed, and one would need to think about making the installation and set up as bulletproof, low/no maintenance, and as simple as possible, in line with Fedimint's current design philosophy.
