I would add that if you are in a state that offers the Enhanced ID (Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Vermont, or Washington), get that.
It's all the benefits of Real ID, PLUS they can be used at border crossings for land or sea from Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, and several of the Caribbean Islands.
