I'm not sure that's true. I do value my time and attention, and when I read notes that are freely accessible, I *am* paying for it in terms of my time that I will never get back. If some of these notes were to go behind a paywall, I may choose to pay for them if they are very valuable to me, but on the other hand it also changes the relationship. I value a kiss from my loved one, but would I pay for it if it was suddenly no longer freely given?
