Well, I don't share your optimism. Most poeple don't care about censorship, unless they are the ones that have been censored, of course. People just want "free" stuff and UI that works. Also, it's possible that micropayments will be implemented on other platforms as well.
These platforms have estabilished brands and huge resources. They can take care of users that don't want to deal with cryptography, relays, clients etc. Not to mention problematic users, like extremists, conspiracy theorists etc.
It may be too far-fetched conclusion, but I think most of people actually don't want to be free, because freedom means uncertainty. That's why I think they would rather choose centralised solutions. This applies to both social interactions (social media) and money.
