Everyone else notices it, too. We're just such a dependent society reliant on industrialized systems for all our needs that most people can't do shit about it. So they soldier on as best they can, continuing to repeat the same mistakes that have gotten them to this point, because making other choices and living a different way requires a lot more work and a willingness to tell "society" to get fucked. Most people don't have that anymore. It's been bred and beaten out of us.
