I have had been using Doom comfortably for nearly 2 years, without any issue. It was only quite recently (ie until 2 weeks ago) that i got the resolve to build my own config.

Configuring was easier than all of my previous attempts, partly because of npub1rg4rk9axwwvaqavmus3cp3rfdtppkjtf3vr04wxh46v7tj6tysmqtxpgjx (npub1rg4…pgjx) 's article, npub1s86eya0xzv7fs4q5p3vfpyc4t2n0tnn5fqe7ma5tz2zxvxmq3y3sdzk24t (npub1s86…k24t) and npub1w66s7p9m6ye68r8ruahta9h3vuf9pckrsewgutg4rwfgdetf4skskhrc58 (npub1w66…rc58) 's videos...

Not gonna lie, Doom seems great for beginners - but it has some opinionated defaults that are really hard to get rid of - i had trouble with disabling prettify-symbols-mode - it simply wouldn't get disabled even if i turn the global mode off.
