I became a US citizen earlier this year, and I voted this weekend - for the first time in the US.
I've seen some elections I would never have believed possible in the past years, from Brexit to Trump to a close call in France to Georgia this very week, and so many more examples.
What I've learned: you can no longer assume everything will turn out okay.
