I think this would be a meaningfully better world, but I'm not sure it would actually have as much of an effect as the FSF portrays. People *should* have the right to examine their OS, modify it, and share those modifications with others - but almost everyone is still going to find it easier to pay Microsoft a nominal sum to get a pre-installed and supported release (what percentage of Pixels are running a custom Android image?)
