It's going to be an intense few weeks.
The kid's orthopaedic hardware removal surgery has been moved up to next Tuesday. Meanwhile my wife is preparing for a job interview on Friday that will determine whether she has a job from October onwards or not. While all of that is going on I'm trying to get ready for the trip to Chile, leaving next Thursday.
I'm glad that I won't be out of the country when the kid has his operation, and it's good that I'm around while my wife is preparing for the interview, but it's still not an ideal time to be away from home. The kid will be off school for two weeks following his operation, and I'll be away for most of that time, leaving my wife to look after him on her own. It's also likely that I'll be away when my wife finds out whether she got the job or not.
