I've been playing with meshtasic for a couple of weeks now and I think it's a cool idea but I don't think it's something I could hand to my wife or someone else that isn't interested in tinkering with these things to use.

Maybe if I were to give them a more stand alone device like the ones with built in keyboards so you don't have to have your phone and radio together at all times.

Also I feel it would be more useful if the app allowed you to use the mqtt network portion of it even if your device isn't connected to your phone. Such as someone with cell signal being able to contact someone on there Lora devices without having to make sure they have a meshtastic device connected to there phone when it's not needed.
