It is not a resignation. I see no comparison between so-called US bravery and whatever men in the EU are doing, it is more nuanced and conditions are different. There is no vote for a federal EU leadership. US citizens all speak the same language and adhere to the same culture, most have little perspective of what happens outside their borders, yet they unite on single issues easily. EU citizens are divided, but not without resistance. The problem for both is their cognitive bias. If you don’t know what the problem is, you don’t know the solution (as is so evident in this ignorant WEF speaker). Your problem is that people and politicians alike don’t know the problem, you are bravely addressing this and I admire you for this.
This WEF man speaks of technology he does not understand, and of constructs of state he has studied so poorly. A law, a policy, a legislation, is only as functional as its enforcement. This digital identity he speaks of may become law, but the policy has no foothold in other jurisdictions, and the internet is without jurisdiction. They can play their game of whack a mole, but the budget for it will dwindle with the result brought forth from their encroachment of natural liberties that can’t be taken. I notice even our freedom fighters haven’t learned much from Solchenizhin. The freedom of the mind can’t be taken. So will our ability to resist encroachment of freedom remain and the enforceability of their policies are only as strong as the hypocrisy of their actions. Burning books didn’t work, so will it be for censoring notes. Ideas are stored in our minds, not on a screen. They can spread in any way we deem fit, and the best ideas will sound useful to most.
